Fitcast Interview on Pregnancy Nutrition and Exercise

A few weeks ago I recorded an interview with Kevin Larabee of the Fitcast on diet and exercise while pregnant.

To hear about my experiences and to find out what I recommend for other women, you can download the podcast here.

And no, I didn't just walk.... I kicked my own butt and ended up with a very healthy, happy baby (as you can see here)!

Thanks Kevin!

Hi Cass. Could you share what supplements you stopped and which you continued while pregnant? Creatine? BCAA? Beta-alanine? I remember seeing something you wrote about fish oil dosing while pregnant. Could you give any details? Thanks in advance and congratulations on your little bundle.

This comment is actually for your "why doesn't exercise make us sleep better post" (although I listened to your podcast discussion and loved it! can't wait for that book to come out):

I think you hit on some really good points in this post.
I became really interested in fitness, strength training, and nutrition a few years ago, and learned of their great benefits on overall health. Lately, though, I've also become aware of the importance of attitude, perspective, stress levels, and the like on health. There are so many dimensions to health! And these things in particular, like you suggested, can make or break everything else we do for our bodies, in very real ways both mentally and physically.
I recently read a fantastic book: "Timeless Healing" by Herbert Benson. He focuses both on the relaxation response and the potential that faith and belief (re: attitude) have in improving and maintaining good health.
I highly recommend this book to any other blog readers wanting to reduce stress and improve general outlook on life.
